Development of skills to enable effective advocacy and inter-disciplinary working are addressed as part of the course. More focussed subjects such as epilepsy, advocacy issues, relationships and leisure may also be chosen as study options in students' second year.

Key Aims & Objectives: The intention is to provide a unique opportunity for a wide range of people to acquire knowledge and skills which will empower then to enable individuals with very complex needs to reach their full potential and to help families, primary carers and those working to support these people with profound and multiple impairments towards an improved quality of life. A theoretical framework is reinforced through practice in the students' home environment/workplace where relevant.
