The nature and practice of educational leadership and management in primary and secondary schools. Improving the efficiency of schools as organisations. PG Certificate in Educational Leadership, Development and Consultancy
1 year part-time

Designed for experienced managers in education wishing to develop their consultancy and training skills, the programme includes a critical overview of current research, the development of key professional capabilities and the practical application of skills in an organisational setting.

CEL Programmes

National Professional Qualification for Headship
3 mts - 1 yr part-time, depending on candidate's needs

The NPQH offers a programme of training and development to qualify aspiring headteachers for their future role. It is a practical qualification, with most of the training and development school-based plus some face-to-face training sessions..

Headteachers' Leadership & Management Programme
1-2 years part-time

The HEADLAMP Programme offers newly appointed headteachers a wide range of support and development that takes account of: the Green paper, Teachers: meeting the challenge of change. It builds toward the LPSH for experienced headteachers and includes mentoring, training, tutorials and consultancy.

Leadership Programme for Serving Headteachers
1 year part-time

The LPSH helps headteachers secure further understanding of how their leadership impacts on raising the quality of education and standards of achievement in school. The four main elements of the programme involve: pre-workshop preparation for the participant and other members of his/her school, a four-day residential workshop, post-workshop support and a follow-up day.

School Management Team Leadership Programme
1 year part-time

The SMTLP is a development programme for school management teams. It is based on the outcomes of 360¡ team appraisals which lead to measurable outcomes in school performance.

Middle Management Leadership Development Programme
1 year part-time

The MMLDP provides middle managers with the opportunity to engage in a development programme with the option of accrediting their work at postgraduate level. The programme sits between NQT provision and the NPQH programme.

Working with Emotional Intelligence
Part-time

The EI programme focuses on the leadership competencies that research shows differentiate the highly competent leaders from the average. The programme complements the Centre's other programmes offering an approach to leadership development that school leaders can use to advantage in all aspects of their lives.
